There has probably been a time in your life when you needed some paper clips so you bought a box of them even though you only actually needed a couple.
This is a way of using the others that would otherwise, just sit in a drawer waiting for the next time you might need a couple of paper clips.
This is how I make a simple pair of earrings just by adding a few glass beads to regular paper clips and attaching a pair of ear hooks.
Firstly select your beads
Make sure the bead holes are large enough to thread onto paper clip

Next open up one side of the paper clip using pliers

Next, start threading on your beads - enough to slide up the closed side of the paper clip up to approximately 1/2 cm below where the open end of clip would normally sit. I’ve threaded five small beads onto this example

Then add you centre bead

Add remaining beads to match the first five beads

To stop the beads from falling off the clip you will then need to make a small loop at the end of the wire using round nosed pliers.

Then gently move the threaded wire back into it’s original position to recreate the paper clip shape

Then make a matching beaded paper clip

Now it’s time to add the ear hooks
Using pliers gently twist open the loop at base of ear hook

Slip the ear hook onto paper clip and close ear hook loop

Repeat for second clip and you have your paper clip earrings

Next enjoy wearing!
