Topaz for November

The traditional birthstone for November is Topaz. The gemstone Topaz is a silicate mineral of Aluminium and flourine. It is one of the hardest naturally occurring mineral measuring 8 on Mohs scale. It is usually found in igneous rocks such as granite and can be found worldwide. In its natural state it is actually colourless but when we think of topaz we usually think of it as a beautiful golden brown or pale blue in colour, this colouration is caused by trace element impurities, topaz can also be treated with heat or radiation to create other colours from a deep dark blue, grey, orange, pale green, pink and purple.

In my website shop, I currently have a simple beadwork necklace and a wire crocheted pair of earrings made with glass crystal beads along with tiny glass beads in both the golden brown and pale blue colours of topaz with beautiful small genuine pale blue faceted topaz drops as shown below
